2013.10.04 - Moved to a Different Host

Due to my original web host's decision to shut down soon after the new year of 2014, I have transferred my domain and the site to a new host. Things might be a bit wonky for a brief time as I readjust things around here.

2011.05.30 - Minor Visual Update to Website

If you've visited the site before, you may notice that things look a little different. The headings on the site have been fancied up with a fun, whimsical looking new font. The font is called Fatstack, by Nate Piekos/Blambot Comic Fonts and Lettering.

2011.05.26 - Keystone Crimewave goes Alpha

The residents of Keystone can't decide who's the bigger menace, the crooks, or the cops!

Finally, after a lot of hard work, the first draft of Keystone Crimewave is ready for alpha playtesting. It's a very rough first draft; it concentrates almost exclusively on the game rules proper and contains few to no examples or superfluous explanatory notes.

Nevertheless, the first draft can be read here.

2011.01.19 - Pilgrim goes Alpha

I'm pleased to announce that Pilgrim is now entering its Alpha playtest stage.

The game document, though far from complete, is now in a state that playtesting can occur. If you're interesting in helping me playtest Pilgrim, send me an email. If you're in the Waterloo region of Ontario, Canada, then playtesting could occur face to face; otherwise playtesting can happen via Skype and other online tools.

2010.09.21 - Game Chef 2010 Aftermath

That time of year has come and gone again; the annual Game Chef design competition has happened. As usual, I participated and gave my best shot at producing and submitting a game. I'm proud to say that I managed to do just that.

This year's theme was Journey, and the ingredients to choose from were City, Desert, Edge, and Skin. What resulted at the end of the 9 day design period was…

In a distant future earth, people undertake a pilgrimage through the vast global desert towards the city of Prees. Their goal is to be reskinned - to have their bodies and minds renewed, rejuvenated. The journey is a dificult one that lays one's soul bare. But to be reskinned, one's soul must be as barren and featureless as the global desert.

Will your soul be ready for reskinning?

Pilgrim is a story game that takes inspiration from Robert Silverberg's 1968 novella Nightwings, Aldous Huxley's 1931 novel Brave New World, and Joe McDaldno's 2009 story game Ribbon Drive.

2010.09.13 - I've Got A Warm and Fuzzy Feeling!

In response to a game design challenge over on, I present…

Warm and Fuzzy A Feel Good Story Game for the Whole Family

Warm and Fuzzy is a story game aimed at the whole family; especially for young kids and parents. With this game, you can create short stories similar to those you might find in children's books.

2010.07.05 - I've Got A Hangover!

As I am wont to do, I participated in the Little Game Chef 2010 game design comptetition. The result was the alpha edition of The Hangover.

2010.01.04 - Work on Slow Burn 2.0 continues!

After taking a break from thinking about, designing, and writing version 2 of Slow Burn during the recent holiday season, I am back at it once again with new energy.

Key mechanical elements are still being worked out; but things are coming together, slowly but surely.

2009.11.13 - goes live! is up and running, and ready to announce to the world, the projects that I'm working on.
