Southwest Sauce
modified from multiple sources online
Ingredients
| 1/2 cup | Mayonnaise |
| 2 tsp | Lime Juice |
| 1 tsp | Sugar or equivalent of Sweetener of Choice |
| 1/2 tsp | Dried Cilantro |
| 1/2 tsp | Paprika |
| 1/2 tsp | White Vinegar |
| 1/2 tsp | Water |
| 1/4 tsp | Salt |
| 1/4 tsp | Garlic Powder |
| 1/2 tsp | Ground Chipotle Chili Powder |
| 1/4 tsp | Finely Ground Black Pepper |
| pinch | Dried Thyme |
| pinch | Ground Cumin |
Preparation
Combine everything in a bowl, and mix very well. Using a small blender (such as a Magic Bullet) or an immersion blender will likely yield best results.
Transfer sauce to a squirt bottle or jar.
Recipe Notes
The original recipe contains 1 tsp. sugar. However, to make this sauce more diabetic friendly, I replaced it with an equivalent sweetener. I suspect that the sugar or sweetener could be omitted entirely without significant negative effect to the taste.
The original recipe does not contain Black Pepper. As a fan of Black Pepper, I have added some to this recipe. You can omit the Black Pepper for a result more similar to the famous submarine sandwich restaurant chain version of southwest sauce.
